Virginia: man charged with DUI after crashing, child ejected from vehicle

A Petersburg man has been charged with driving under the influence and failure to secure a child after an Interstate 95 wreck in which his 6-year-old niece was ejected from the back seat, Virginia State Police said Saturday.
The child, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries when the car overturned late Friday. She was flown to VCU Medical Center along with her grandmother, who was in the front seat and also had serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Lee Soloman, 23, of Petersburg was driving the 2007 Pontiac in the right lane of I-95 northbound in Petersburg shortly before 9:30 p.m. when he attempted to change lanes to pass a 1999 International tractor-trailer but struck the rear of the rig, state police said.  ….MORE
