VIRGINIA: Stafford County Sheriff David Decatur reports DUI arrests for May, June 2021

Warrenton Road & Hartwood Road, 5/28, 12:00 a.m.
Deputy M.A. Pearce responded to the area for a report of a reckless driver. The vehicle was initially not located, but the deputy later observed the vehicle stuck in a ditch. The driver, Johnathan Middleton, 49, of Fredericksburg, was located
with the vehicle. He had slurred speech and glassy eyes. A controlled substance was observed on the front passenger seat. Middleton was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and driving under the influence. He was held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

50 block of Confederate Way, 5/31, 8:40 p.m.
Deputy C.T. Richardson responded to the area for a report of a drunk driver. The deputy located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The driver, Sandra Mize, 40, of Stafford, smelled of alcoholic beverages. Field sobriety tests were
administered and Mize was arrested for driving under the influence. She was held on a $1,500 unsecured bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

Kings Highway & Cleek Lane, 5/31, 9:12 p.m. Sergeant A.I. Assur stopped a vehicle for driving 84 mph in a 55 mph zone. The driver, Darwin Canaca-Alvarez, 36, of Fredericksburg, had glassy eyes and slurred speech. Field sobriety tests were administered and Canaca-Alvarez was arrested.
He was charged with driving under the influence, refusal of test, and reckless driving. He was held on a $2,000 unsecured bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jai

Garrisonville Road & Shelton Shop Road, 5/21, 7:00 p.m.

Deputy A.T. Leckemby responded for a report of an accident. The deputy learned the suspect, Sarah Newsome, 32, of Stafford, rear-ended a vehicle. Newsome smelled of alcoholic beverages and had glassy eyes. Field sobriety tests
were administered and Newsome was arrested for driving under the influence. She was held on a $1,500 unsecured bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

Tacketts Mill Road & Dunbar Drive, 5/22, 6:47 p.m.
Deputy S.M. Eastman responded for a vehicle in a ditch. Upon arrival, the deputy located the driver, Holly Snead, 33, of Woodbridge. Snead was unsteady on her feet. Field sobriety tests were administered and Snead was arrested. Containers containing alcoholic beverages were found inside the vehicle. Snead was charged with driving under the influence, drinking while driving, and refusal of test. She was held on a $1,000 unsecured bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

100 block of Garrisonville Road, 5/23, 1:26 a.m.

Deputy E.E. West stopped a vehicle for a traffic light violation. The driver, George Hill Jr., 50, of Glen Allen, smelled of alcoholic beverages and had glassy eyes. Field sobriety tests were administered and Hill was arrested. An open container of alcoholic beverages was found inside his vehicle. Hill was charged with driving under the influence and drinking while driving. He was held on a $2,500 unsecured bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

Courthouse Road & I-95, 5/23, 9:20 p.m.

Deputy J.J. Yenchak stopped a vehicle for failing to maintain its lane of travel. The driver, Carrie Le, 41, of Stafford, had glassy eyes and slurred speech. Field sobriety tests were administered and Le was arrested. She was charged with driving under the influence-3rd offense, driving under the influence with a revoked license, and driving
after forfeiture of license. Le was held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

Mile Marker 139 I-95 Southbound, 5/27, 2:01 a.m. Deputy E.E. West stopped a vehicle for speeding. The driver, Jason Robinson, 43, of Stafford, had glassy eyes and slurred speech. Field sobriety tests were administered and Robinson was arrested for driving under the influence. He was held until sober on an unsecured bond.

105 Garrisonville Road, Wawa, 5/27, 10:11 p.m. Deputy J.W. Ahern responded to the business for a report of a drunk driver. Upon arrival, the deputy located the driver, Antonio Gunn, 47, of Richmond, with his vehicle at the air pumps. Gunn had slurred speech and appeared to be under the influence. Field sobriety tests were administered and he was arrested. Gunn was charged with driving under the influence and refusal of the test. He was held on a $1,000 unsecured bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

600 block of Kings Highway, 5/26, 3:21 a.m. Deputy C.S. Haines stopped a vehicle for driving 88 mph in a 55 mph zone. The driver, Cassondra Head, 28, of Fredericksburg, appeared to be under the influence. Field sobriety tests were administered. As the deputy attempted to place Head into handcuffs, she resisted, but deputies were able to detain her. Head was arrested for driving under the influence, obstruction of justice, reckless driving, and refusal of test. She was held on a $5,000 unsecured bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

Exit 143 I-95 Southbound, 5/26, 5:20 a.m. Deputy B.W. Gildea stopped a vehicle for speeding and for failing to maintain its lane of travel. The driver, Katie Del Pierro, 50, of Sterling, had slurred speech and appeared to be under the influence. Field sobriety tests were administered and Del Pierro was arrested. Controlled substances were found inside her vehicle. Del Pierro was charged with driving under the influence and three counts of possession of a controlled substance. She was held on a $5,000 unsecured bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

Harrell Road & County Road 623, 5/25, 10:10 p.m. Deputy D.S. Jett responded for a report of a single-vehicle accident. Upon arrival, the deputy found the vehicle in a ditch. The driver, Charles Otis Minor Jr., 42, of Fredericksburg, smelled of alcoholic beverages. Field sobriety tests were administered and Minor was arrested. Minor was charged with driving under the influence-2nd offense. He was held on a $1,000 secured bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
