LANCASTER COUNTY – Virginia State Police report that one person was killed early on October 30, 2016, when the car she was driving ran off the road and struck a tree. The crash occurred at approximately 1:33 a.m., on Route 201 (White Chapel Road), 8/10 mile north of Route 780 (Old Bethel Road) in Lancaster County.

Virginia State Police Trooper E. D. Haynie investigated the crash.

A 2004 Acura MDX was traveling south on Route 201 when it ran off the road to the right striking a guardrail ,then back left striking an embankment going airborne overturning and striking a tree ejecting the driver.

The driver of the Acura, Corinne A. Ludwig, 25 of Lancaster County died at the scene; she was not wearing a seatbelt.

Speed and alcohol are being considered factors in the crash.
