Washington State Patrol Detectives Seek Witnesses in Crash of DUI Driver Kyle Warren Kay into SUV on Northbound I-5

King County:  At approximately 11:29 pm on July 2, 2017, Washington State Patrol troopers responded to a three car injury collision NB I-5 near S. 375th.

A white Jeep SUV was traveling NB I-5 when it struck a silver Ford Focus in the left rear and subsequently struck a maroon SUV.  The maroon SUV lost control due to this collision and struck the jersey barrier causing the driver to sustain multiple rib fractures.  The Jeep ended up stopping about one mile north of the scene.

Further investigation led troopers to believe that the driver of the Jeep was impaired by drugs or alcohol and was placed into custody for investigation of Felony Vehicular Assault due to the nature of the injuries to the other driver.  The driver of the Jeep was 25-year-old Kyle Warren Kay from Seattle.  A blood search warrant was obtained and served after which Kay was booked into the King County Jail.
