WASHINGTON: State Patrol reports crash caused by repeat DUI driver Catherine Yarbrough, charged with DUI, failure to have an ignition interlock

SKAGIT COUNTY: Washington State Patrol reports that Catherine Y. Yarbrough, 60, of Mount Vernon, Washington, lost control of her vehicle, left the roadway near milepost 231 on Interstate 5 on February 18, 2021, at 5:58 pm, and struck a guardrail. Police say that Yarbrough was charged with DUI, failure to use ignition interlock, and driving while suspended. Unlike most DUI crashes, Yarbrough was the only person injured.

Yarbrough was flown to Harborview, say police.  Kortney McGuire, 43, and three children, ages, 17, 10, and 8, all of Everett, Washington, were traveling with her as passengers in a Nissan Sentra and were not injured, say police. The Nissan was totaled in the wreck, say police.
