It appears that Raul missed Cinco de Mayo but caught Memorial Day!
What a way to kick off a Memorial Day holiday, no beach bunnies, no fancy margaritas, no festival with all manner of ethnic food, unless of course the Snohomish County Jail provides good old American hot dogs for its Latino guests stuck in the slammer on hit and run, DUI, vehicular assault and driving while license is suspended. The perfect place for a thug like this is exactly where Washington State Patrol Trooper M. Hilt placed the accused Raul Vargas Meda – in the slammer.
Police say that at 2:51 am on May 28, 2016, Raul Vargas Meda, 36, of Sedro Woolley, Washington, was operating a 2001 Chevy Tahoe north on I-5 at mile post 211, 3 miles north of Arlington, Washington, when he drifted onto the left shoulder, hit a guardrail and rolled. The lucky passenger who joined him on his booze cruise was Irma Hernandez, who almost bought a ticket to her own funeral. She was not injured. Not so lucky was Veronica A. Yzaguirre, 36, also of Mount Vernon, Washington. She was taken to Skagit Valley Hospital for the treatment of the injuries she could have foreseen would take place when riding with an impaired driver.
The hit and run charge placed against Vargas Meda showed yet another insight into his character that of being a coward eager to avoid explaining why he was driving without a license, was intoxicated on drugs and or alcohol and living the life of a dirtbag while endangering the lives of his passengers and innocent folks on the highway.
