Wisconsin: 5 time drunk driver injures two police officers in crash

A 34-year-old Milwaukee police officer suffered a broken pelvis when a suspected drunken driver ran a red light and slammed into a police car on the city’s south side, police said Wednesday.
Police officials and legislators used the incident to push for tougher drunken driving laws and to urge state residents to change what the officials called a culture of accepting drunken driving.
“This guy was totally out-of-his-mind drunk. There is no excuse for how fast he was going, how hard he hit that car. It’s only by the grace of God that we’re not here outside a funeral home instead of outside the hospital,” said a visibly agitated Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn outside Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa. “If you’ve seen her car, you’d know how close she came to death last night, and that’s just simply intolerable.” ….MORE
