Lewisville Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Greg Tierney resigned Monday after being arrested earlier in the day on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
Mayor Dean Ueckert read Tierney’s short letter of resignation at the end of Monday’s Lewisville City Council meeting.
Tierney, who did not attend the meeting, stated in the letter that he was resigning “for personal reasons.” He was arrested shortly before 4 a.m. Monday after a Lewisville police officer noticed a car weaving back and forth along Bellaire Boulevard, according to an arrest affidavit….MORE

Two people were charged with felony driving while intoxicated in Washington County late Sunday in separate traffic stops, arrests that were among a number of DWI arrests made by local police in the hours after the Super Bowl.
Three of the arrests came after minor crashes late Sunday and early Monday, police said. William C. King, 57, of Wanakena (St. Lawrence County), was arrested at 11:31 p.m. Sunday after he drove off Baldwin Corners Road in Hartford, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. He was not hurt, but had a 0.14 percent blood-alcohol content and was charged with felony DWI because he has at least one prior conviction within the past 10 years, officials said.
Minutes later, the Sheriff’s Office stopped Leigh A. Rayno, 37, of Glens Falls on Farley Road in Kingsbury and determined she was intoxicated as well, officials said. She had a BAC of 0.17, and was charged with felony DWI based on a prior conviction, police records show. ….MORE

WAMPSVILLE, MADISON CO. – A teenager will spend at least the next three years in prison after admitting guilt in a DWI crash last year that killed her friend.
18-year-old Chelsea Kuss of Syracuse was in Madison County Court Monday morning and entered a guilty plea to aggravated vehicular homicide in connection with a crash last May that killed a passenger in the car she was driving and critically injured a woman in another vehicle. She also pleaded guilty to charges of driving while intoxicated and reckless driving. She was sentenced to 3.5 to 10 years in prison as part of the plea agreement. The judge decided not to offer her youthful offender status, and she will have to have an ignition interlock device installed in her car, as part of Leandra’s law. …MORE
