Maryland: State Trooper hit by DUI driver Franklin Hernandez — who failed to move over!

Cpl. Hirsch along with another trooper were conducting a vehicle search on I-495 in the area of the Greenbelt Metro Station. Both Maryland State Police patrol units were stopped with their emergency equipment activated on the right road shoulder. While conducting a search, a 2005 Chevrolet failed to obey the move over law, and struck Cpl. Hirsch while standing on the right shoulder. The vehicle was stopped a short distance later.

Maryland: Queen Anne’s County Sheriff Gary Hoffman reports DUI arrests for Sept. 22, 2014

— Queen Anne’s County Sheriff Gary Hoffman reports that on 9/7/2014 at 0019 Hours: Dfc. Burns was in the area of Shopping Center Drive in Stevensville when he saw a grey Acura drive off the roadway and into a ditch. The driver, Joseph Dominic Zonetti of Stevensville was not injured but had an odor of alcohol upon his person. After attempting field sobriety tasks, he was placed under arrest for DWI. After citations were issued, he was released to a sober family member.

California: Riverside County Sheriff’s Department reports DUI arrests for Sept. 22, 2014

On Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at about 10:50 PM, officers of the Rancho Mirage Police Department were dispatched to the area of Highway 111 and Frank Sinatra Dr., in response to a report of a hit and run traffic collision. With the assistance of the Cathedral City Police Department, the suspect was located a short time after the collision and identified as Omar Fregozo, 25 of Cathedral City. Neither party involved in the collision sustained any injuries, but Fregozo was found to have been intoxicated at the time of the collision. Fregozo was booked into the Riverside County Jail for hit and run and driving under the influence.
