David Jon Blackmon, of Bend, Oregon, was involved in the theft of a pickup belonging to a portable restroom company that was servicing its portable units at Exchange 24 in the Birkenfeld area.

 While re-securing her in the police car, she kicked a troopers hand as it was rested against the door, but he was not injured.  An ambulance was called to the scene for a welfare check due to Jacobson’s high level of intoxication as well as her stating to officers that she was pregnant.

A drunk driver with a famous name decided to flee after narrowly missing a police car, his first stop on his path to jail.  With that sobriety test out of the way, the motorist gunned it and slammed into a power pole. The pole won.

An investigation primarily supervised by troopers of the Oregon State Police resulted in the arrest of Barnett and the subsequent filing of an Information charging her with First Degree Manslaughter, Second Degree Assault, Third Degree Assault, Felony Strangulation, two counts of Failure to Perform Duties of a Motorist involving death or injury (commonly referred to a felony Hit and Run) and Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants.

The Washington State Patrol reports that a driver who has been charged with DUI homicide crashed head-on into another vehicle as he passed when it was unsafe to do and killed one person.
