Indiana State Police report that a volunteer firefighter was killed at the scene of a crash Friday night after being run over by another responding firefighter who police arrested for operating while intoxicated.
While re-securing her in the police car, she kicked a troopers hand as it was rested against the door, but he was not injured. An ambulance was called to the scene for a welfare check due to Jacobson’s high level of intoxication as well as her stating to officers that she was pregnant.
Knox County – Indiana State Police conducted a saturation patrol last night and early this morning targeting dangerous and impaired drivers in Knox County.
McMurray made his initial appearance in Dearborn Superior Court II on Monday. Deputy prosecutor Andrew Krumwied told Judge Sally Blankenship that McMurray has a 2005 conviction for manslaughter in Kentucky in relation to another wreck he caused which claimed another man’s life.
At one point, Bates turned around and faced Hamed who ordered Bates to get on the ground by gunpoint, yet Bates fled again with Hamed in pursuit. Bates ran northbound in the southbound lanes of on-coming traffic on Indianapolis Blvd. where Hamed had to physically tackle him.
Police say that Vargas-Hernandez struck the rear of the Honda causing it to slide off the road and overturn several times in the ditch.
