Washington: bail set at $1 million for driver accused of killing Steve Lacey in case of drunken roadrage

SEATTLE — The man accused of killing a Google software developer during a drunken road-rage incident has been freed, and the victim’s friends say they’re outraged.
State troopers say Steve Lacey was running errands when an SUV crossed the center line and killed him at NE 85th and Interstate 90.
On Monday, prosecutors requested that bail for Patrick Rexroat be set at $1 million, citing his blood-alcohol level measure 0.328 – four times the legal limit – at the time of his arrest. But because Rexroat had no prior criminal history, the judge set bail at $50,000. ….MORE

Occoquan-area woman charged with DUI after pursuit
An Occoquan-area woman was charged on Monday night after police said that she led them on a chase through a portion of the eastern end of Prince William County.
Police tried to stop a car driven by Carolyn Ann Gallegos while on Opitz Boulevard, near the Potomac Festival shopping center and Potomac Hospital at 11:26 p.m. for an apparent DUI, Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok said.
Gallegos ignored the officer’s lights and siren, and continued to drive further down Opitz Boulevard, Perok said. ….MORE

It was New Year’s Eve, 1981. I was 10 years old. My friend Mary Beth was visiting for the weekend. Mary Beth and I walked down my street to my friend Becky’s house and knocked on the door. “Is Becky home?” I asked her mother.
“No. She’s over Sarah’s house, but Sarah’s brother is supposed to be driving her home around 5:00 if you want to come back.” Becky and I had not spoken for a year because of some silly fight we had about something that I can’t even remember. Kentucky: They often hurt the ones they love; dad hears charges of killing his daughter while he was driving drunk…through an interpreter

ELIZABETHTOWN, KY (July 27, 2011) – The father accused of crashing his SUV while drunk on I-65, killing his two year old daughter was in court Monday.
Arturo Martinez Rodriguez, 22, listened to the charges against him through an interpreter. WAVE 3 has learned that Rodriguez is in the U.S. illegally and he’s being investigated by federal agents.
Rodriguez is charged with murder, DUI, driving without a license, failing to maintain insurance, and failing use a child safety seat. On Friday, police say Martinez lost control of his SUV near the Glendale exit on Interstate 65, crossed the median and flipped.
His two-year-old daughter, Sidolena Martinez was thrown from the vehicle and killed. The little girl’s mother, Silena Smith was also in the SUV and has been treated and released from the hospital. ….MORE
