California: Highway Patrol arrested State Senator Benjamin Hueso for DUI; he says he is sorry and will accept his punishment

SACRAMENTO (08/23/2014) – A Democratic California State Senator from San Diego has been arrested in Sacramento under suspicion of DUI early Friday morning.

According to the Sacramento County Jail booking logs, 44-year-old Sen. Benjamin Hueso was booked at 3:27 a.m. Friday. California Highway Patrol confirms that they arrested the state senator.

Officer Julie Powell, a CHP representative, says that Hueso was driving a state vehicle when he was arrested. Hueso was reportedly driving the wrong way on 15th Street when he happened upon an officer. Hueso then did a u-turn in front of the officer, CHP says, before the officer eventually pulled him over in a parking lot at 15th and X Streets. He was arrested at 2:39 a.m., according to CHP.

Indiana: Colts Owner Irsay charged with OWI impaired and pocket full of pills

Carmel Police report that on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at 11:41pm, James S. Irsay (54 years old) was stopped in the 13000 block of Horseferry Road, Carmel, IN for driving at a slow rate of speed, stopping in the roadway and failure to signal turn.

During the course of the investigation, Irsay subsequently failed several roadside field sobriety tests and was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated (I.C. 9-30-5-2(A) /A-Misdemeanor).

During the inventory of Irsay’s vehicle, multiple prescription drugs were discovered in pill bottles. These Schedule IV prescription drugs were not associated with any prescription bottles found in the vehicle. He was also charged with Possession of Controlled Substance
