This is nothing unusual. There are judges who don’t like the DWI laws and will dismiss at the drop of a hat. There are lawyers who judge shop with multiple continuances until they can get to the soft-on-crime judges. Judges are elected, but most citizens don’t know what their records are. Judges are THE weakest link in the process of getting impaired drivers off the road.
