Washington: State Patrol reports DUI at play when rider on motorcycle was killed

Jonathan Bradley Varner, 36, of San Marcos, Texas, was arrested and charged with Reckless Murder. The arrest stems from a fatal traffic crash in which Varner was involved on June 12. Varner was booked into the Elmore County Jail with a $15,000 bond

On June 28, 2015, about 8:30 pm, officers from the Temecula Police Department responded to a reported hit and run traffic collision involving a motorcyclist with serious injuries in the 31800 block of Rancho California Road in the city of Temecula. The suspect in the hit and run, Benjamin Liano (22) of Temecula, was detained nearby

James Cody Sanders, 18, of Alcolu was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck, according to Deputy Coroner Bucky Mock. Sanders was a passenger in Swiger’s 2003 Toyota Echo, which left the right side of the road, overcorrected, went to the left side, struck an embankment and then overturned after going to the right side again

The driver of the silver Nissan Frontier, Jaime Xahuentit Palacios, a 39 year old resident of Santa Ana, was ultimately arrested on suspicion of felony DUI resulting in death as well as driving while unlicensed. The Nissan Frontier is believed to be related to the original drunk driver call.
