Oregon: Washington County Sheriff reports on eleven DUI arrests with two crashes over weekend

Since midnight Sunday, Washington County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested eleven DUII driver’s including two from crashes. One of the crashes was a head-on collision on SW Pacific Highway (Hwy. 99W) near King City. Three people went to the hospital from that crash

Gerardo Cornejo, 20, of Nuevo was driving a 1994 Honda Civic westbound in the eastbound lane when he slammed head-on into a 2007 Suzuki RX4. That’s when the 20-year-old spun around, and was hit by a Dodge Ram pickup truck

According to the crash report, Siegel told police: “A person he knows as Andrew was operating the vehicle at the time of the accident, and fled the scene on foot.”

He added, “Officer, I’m not trying to get a DWI arrest, take me to the firehouse and let me sleep it off, and I’ll come back later and deal with this.”

Later, when asked about the incident he stated: “I was driving southbound when I lost control.”

Police also say Sanchez displayed several indicators that he was intoxicated. Charges will be filed against him pending approval, according to investigators.
