Tennessee: Tipton County Deputy Sheriff was DUI in cruiser with his child when he crashed; FIRED by Sheriff Pancho Chumley

“It is fortunate that no one was injured in this incident. I am disappointed at the total disrespect of safety for the citizens of Tipton County, his son and other law enforcement officers displayed by Deputy Williamson. It is truly a sad day in light of this investigation and the allegations against Deputy Williamson. I requested the Tennessee Highway Patrol to investigate this matter and I will support the prosecution of any criminal activity to the fullest that is determined during their investigation. This type of conduct is never tolerated and is certainly not the standard of quality employees at the Sheriff’s Office. As always anytime we suspect misconduct or criminal violations by one of our employees, we will request it be investigated. I feel this is the only way to maintain the standards the citizens of Tipton County deserve and I demand at the Tipton County Sheriff’s Office.”
