Louisiana: State Police believe Hunter L. Lehmann was DUI when he crashed stolen car and died

Troopers learned that Lehmann stole a 2010 Dodge Ram from the Duff Road area of Walker, LA earlier in the day. Denham Springs police officers spotted the stolen vehicle, and a short pursuit ensued. The investigation revealed that the crash occurred as Lehmann was driving the Dodge southbound on LA Hwy 1032. As he was traveling southbound Lehmann failed to negotiate a left hand curve and the Dodge ran off the roadway to the right. After leaving the roadway the Dodge struck a tree head on.

Officer Donald Frazier was arrested by Sgt. Tony Branch, of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. Branch stated in the incident report that he responded with Deputy Kyle Farley and Deputy Gary Davis, also of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, in reference to a wreck. A lady on the scene told them she did not see the crash, but saw a male subject throwing beer cans from the vehicle into the ditch, according to the report.
