Texas: Booze a factor in serious crash, say El Paso Police; 41-year-old man in custody, charges pending

While the three individuals were outside of their vehicles changing the tire a 2008 Ford F250 veered into the emergency lane and struck all three victims as well as the Maxima and the F150. Forsyth County authorities have identified the boy killed in a single-vehicle wreck there as 17-year-old Paul Louis Castell Jr. of Dawsonville.

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said Castell was a passenger in a 2011 Dodge Ram pickup when it left Kelly Mill Road near Rockingham Run, hitting a telephone pole around 1 a.m. Sunday. The impact ejected Castell, who was in the rear, passenger-side seat and reportedly was not wearing a seat belt. The teen died at the scene.

Canada: Peel Regional Police report Kam Gill dead; 17-year-old charged with Impaired Operation, death etc

Brampton, Ontario — 00:38:00 — 06/02/2014 – Peel Regional Police report: Investigators from the Major Collision Bureau are appealing for witnesses to a serious motor vehicle collision which occurred in Brampton.

On Saturday, May 31, 2014, at approximately 1:36 a.m., a collision occurred in the intersection of Airport Road and Lacoste Boulevard in Brampton. A 2006 Toyota Corolla was struck by a tractor trailer within that intersection.

All four occupants of the Corolla were transported to hospital where 18 year-old Kam Gill succumbed to his injuries and an 18 year-old passenger remains in stable condition in a trauma centre. The driver and the fourth passenger have been released from hospital.

California: Costa Mesa Police charged Brandon Anthony Alvarez with DUI; killed woman and fled

Officers initially responded to reports of a hit and run collision in the area and fled from the scene, northbound on Harbor, according to the Costa Mesa Police Department.

As the truck fled at a high rate of speed, it ran a red light at the Northbound I-405 Freeway offramp and broadsided a Kia Optima, Sgt. David Makiyama said.

North Carolina: Thabit Ashim Pierre-Louis killed a baby on his DWI joyride into tree

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said the infant was not in a child seat and was being held by a passenger in the back seat, and they accuse the driver of speeding and DWI.

The driver, identified by police as Thabiti Ashim Pierre-Louis, 21, was among five people injured in the wreck and was charged at the hospital with DWI, child seat violation and overcrowding a vehicle. Police said he will be charged with felony death by motor vehicle, reckless driving, possession of marijuana and child neglect when he is released from the hospital.
