California: Wrong-Way Freddie Zazueta busted for DUI after plowing up median strip

The investigation determined the driver, Fredrick Zazueta, age 24 of La Quinta, had been traveling westbound on Hwy. 111 east of Cook St. when he lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle drove across the center landscaped median causing minor damage to landscape lighting and a city sign and came to rest in the eastbound lanes facing west. It was determined intoxication may have been a factor in this collision and Zazueta was booked into the Riverside County jail in Indio for driving under the influence.

California: Soukvilay Barton killed her dad when he tried to stop her from driving drunk; backed over him

Witnesses told police 37-year-old Soukvilay Barton had been drinking and arguing with family members about 6:20 p.m. Friday at their home in the 14000 block of Bush Avenue in Riverside. After becoming upset, she tried to leave in her BMW, which was parked in the garage, police said.

As Barton entered the car, her father, Bounmy Rajsombath, tried convincing her that she should not drive after drinking, police said.

Troopers said Rasheed Reeves, 23, was driving drunk when his 2005 Ford Crown Victoria ran off the left side of the roadway, then veered back across the interstate and hit a guard rail on the right side.

Troopers said Reeves and a 16-year-old Greenwood girl were not wearing seatbelts and were ejected from the car. Both were taken to the hospital where the girl later died.

The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Shykeria Lyle-Daja Watts of Cemetery Road.
