California: Victor Manuel Gallegos smashed his pickup on boozy-woozy turn into store; DUI and jail

The driver of the truck, Victor Manuel Gallegos (age 53 of Coachella) was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol/ and or drugs. Gallegos was taken to a local area hospital for a precaution prior to being booked into the Riverside County jail in Indio.

California: Thomas Karl Doczi charged with DUI in killing bicyclist with his Porsche

Officers and paramedics arrived within minutes and determined a bicyclist had been struck by a vehicle. The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation revealed that a silver 2002 Porsche was traveling westbound on Hovley Lane East just west of Corporate Way when it struck the bicyclist.

The Porsche was being driven by Thomas Karl Doczi, age 60 of Rancho Mirage. Alcohol may have been a factor in this collision. Doczi was booked into the jail in the city of Indio for vehicular manslaughter.

According to Sgt. Adam Elders of the Coachella Police, on Monday, February 2, 2015, at 12:12 a.m., Coachella police officers responded to Leoco Ln. and Avenue 50 regarding a non-injury traffic collision.

Officers arrived and learned a Silver Kia Spectra sedan had collided with the curb of the roadway. No one was injured, but alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the collision.

On Saturday, January 10, 2015, at 5:59 p.m., Coachella police officers responded to Harrison Street and Bagdad Avenue regarding a minor injury traffic collision.

A brown Chevrolet Venture was southbound on Harrison Street and collided with another vehicle, which was stopped in the left turn lane at Bagdad Avenue. Three juveniles were in the Chevrolet at the time of the collision.

This investigation revealed that Ramon Cordova, 26 of La Quinta, was parking his vehicle when he collided with a pedestrian in the parking lot. Cordova was found to have been driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and with a suspended license at the time of this collision.
