Virginia: Richard E. Lawrence charged with felony manslaughter in addition to DUI in crash that killed Mary Hoover

HANOVER, Va. – Richard E. Lawrence, Jr. now faces an additional charge, felony aggravated involuntary manslaughter, after the fatal crash that occurred in June on Pole Green Road, near Lee Davis Road.
The crash, which resulted in the fatality of Mary Hoover, was a head-on collision between 1999 Saab and a 2002 Chevrolet Blazer. When emergency responders arrived, the Saab was on fire.
Lawrence, 56, of the 7400 block of Newtown Road in St. Stephens Church, was charged initially with Driving Under the Influence.
