Cockeyed drunk driving propelled Paul Levy into a traffic sign

According to Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, on Thursday, June 7, 2018, at approximately 11:22 PM, officers from the Palm Desert Police Department responded to a single vehicle traffic collision in the 74-000 block of Highway 111., Palm Desert.

It was determined the driver, Paul Levy, 57 years of Indian Wells, was traveling eastbound Highway 111 when he veered off the road and collided into a posted sign.  Levy did not sustain any injuries as a result of the collision, but during the investigation, it was determined that Levy showed symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol.  Levy was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol and was transported to a local hospital as a precaution.  Once treated, he was booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio.

Cristian Leal’s BMW flight into the rear end of a Honda left his passenger flying into the windshield

On June 8, 2018, at 4:46 pm, Coachella police officers responded to a traffic collision at Avenue 50 and Oates Ln in Coachella.   The investigation revealed that Cristian Lucero Leal, 23 years old of Coachella, was driving a grey BMW sedan on Avenue 50.  The front passenger of the BMW sedan was a 15-year-old male.  Leal rear-ended a red Honda Civic who was stopped for a red traffic light.  The 15-year-old male was not wearing his seatbelt and hit the front windshield, suffering minor to moderate injuries.  He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.  The driver of the Honda Civic was not injured.  Leal was found to be under the influence of alcohol/drugs and was arrested on two felony counts; DUI with injuries and corporal injury to a minor.
