La Quinta Police
According to Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the following DUI arrests have been accomplished.
On Monday, May 28, 2018, at approximately 8:10 pm, officers from the La Quinta Police responded to Eisenhower Drive and Calle Sinaloa reference a single vehicle traffic collision.
Amanda Ramirez, 27, of La Quinta, was driving a white Dodge Avenger May 28, 2018, DUI with the sidewalk
It was determined the driver, Amanda Ramirez, 27 years old of La Quinta, was driving a white Dodge Avenger southbound on Eisenhower Drive and lost control of the vehicle, colliding with the sidewalk. Ramirez did not sustain any injuries, but during the investigation, it was determined she showed symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol/drugs. Ramirez was arrested for driving under the influence and of alcohol/drugs and transported to a local hospital as a precaution. Once examined, Ramirez was booked into Riverside County jail in Indio for DUI.

On Monday, May 28, 2018, at approximately 11:48 AM, officers from the Palm Desert Police Department responded to a single vehicle traffic collision in the 76-000 block of Frank Sinatra Drive, Palm Desert. It was determined the driver, Lesha Nix, 40 years of Utah, was driving a white sedan while in an RV park and collided with a tree. Nix did not sustain injuries as a result of the collision, but during the investigation, it was determined that she showed symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol. Nix was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol and was transported to a local hospital as a precaution. Once treated, she was booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio.

On Monday, May 21, 2018, at about 11:33 PM, Officers from the Indian Wells Police Department received a report of an injury traffic collision in the 43000 Block of Via Orvieto, in the city of Indian Wells. The investigation revealed that a Golf Cart traveling northbound on Via Orvieto collided with a fire hydrant, causing damage to the fire hydrant and causing the golf cart to overturn. The driver was transported via ambulance to the local hospital for treatment.
Information gathered at the scene, coupled with statements made by the involved parties, suggests that alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the cause of the collision. On May 11, 2018, around 6:02 PM, officers from the Palm Desert Police Department responded to a reported single vehicle traffic collision at Frank Sinatra Drive and Tamarisk Row Drive, Palm Desert. The investigation revealed a blue Honda CRV, driven by a Vicki Campbell, age 59 of Palm Desert, was traveling northbound on Tamarisk Row Drive, when she veered off the road and collided with a chain link fence within the 76-100 Block of Frank Sinatra Drive. Vicki Campbell was found to have been operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Vicki Campbell was transported to a local hospital and was admitted for non-life threating injuries.
