Hawaii: cop who hit pedestrian while driving drunk gets 30 days in clink

A Honolulu police officer will spend 30 days in jail for drunk driving and several driving without a license charges.
He could have faced a much longer jail sentence if not for the kindness of his victim.
It has been a difficult year for Officer Boyd Kamikawa. In April of last year, he hit a pedestrian while driving drunk.
“I just want to apologize to the victim and the family for this happening. I made a bad judgement that day and I wish I could take it back,” Kamikawa said during his sentencing.
The 70-year-old victim required surgeries to repair a broken arm. Kamikawa faced significant jail time at the sentencing. ….MORE
