(Stamford, NY – January 6, 2016) On January 5, 2016, at about 10:30 a.m., New York State Police at Stamford arrested Frank T. Alfisi, 47, of Stamford, NY for the misdemeanor of aggravated driving while intoxicated with a B.A.C. result of .20% and the felony of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle 1st.  This arrest occurred after troopers observed an unoccupied vehicle with minor damage left in the road way on Main Street in the Town of Stamford.  An investigation determined Alfisi had been driving while intoxicated with a suspended license when he drove into a small street sign and then left the vehicle in the roadway.  He was arrested after being located sleeping at the vehicle owner’s home in Stamford.  Alfisi was arraigned in the Town of Stamford court and was released after his $1,500 cash bail was posted.  His next court date is pending.

(Ulysses, NY – January 11, 2016) On January 10, 2015, at about 12:55 a.m.  New York State Police at Newfield arrested Andrew J. Tavares, 25 of Enfield, NY for the misdemeanor of aggravated driving while intoxicated with a B.A.C. result of .18%.  This arrest occurred after a trooper stopped to check on a driver who just pulled over on the shoulder of Trumansburg Road in the Town of Ulysses.  An investigation determined that the driver was lost and was also driving while intoxicated.  Tavares was issued tickets to appear in the Town of Ulysses Court on January 26, 2016.

(Owego, NY – January 11, 2016) On January 9, 2016, at about 7:33 p.m., New York State Police at Owego arrested Alexander G. Perry, 30 of Apalachin, NY for the misdemeanor of aggravated driving while intoxicated with a B.A.C. result of .24% and other traffic violations.  This arrest occurred after a traffic stop when Perry was observed driving without two license plates on his vehicle while on Maryvale Drive in the Town of Owego.  An investigation determined that he was driving while intoxicated when he drove into his driveway and stopped.  Perry was issued tickets to appear in the Town of Owego court on January 14, 2016

(Oneonta, NY – January 11, 2016) On January 9, 2016, at about 2:05 a.m., New York State Police at Oneonta arrested Regan O. Baudelaire, 23, of Oneonta, NY for the misdemeanor of driving while intoxicated with a B.A.C. result of .12% and other traffic violations.  This arrest occurred after traffic stop when Baudelaire was observed driving erratically and did not have a working plate lamp while on Southside Drive in the Town of Oneonta.  An investigation determined that she was driving while intoxicated.  Baudelaire was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Oneonta court on January 19, 2016.

(Lansing, NY – January 12, 2016) On January 11, 2016, at about 7:46 p.m., New York State Police at Ithaca arrested John David H. McKane, 21, of Lansing, NY, for the misdemeanor of driving while intoxicated with a B.A.C. result of .13%.  This arrest occurred after troopers responded to a Tompkins County 911 report of one car property damage accident on Auburn Road in the Town of Lansing.  An investigation determined that McKane was driving while intoxicated when he drove off the roadway and into a yard.  McKane was issued tickets to appear in the Town of Lansing Court on January 21, 2016.

Tony Worth was chugging along at 27 in a 60 when busted for DWI

(Owego, NY – January 12, 2016) On January 10, 2016, at about 11:20 p.m., New York State Police at Owego arrested Tony Worth, 64, of Horseheads, NY for the misdemeanor of driving while intoxicated and other traffic violations.  This arrest occurred after a traffic stop when Worth was observed driving too slowly at 27 mph when the posted speed limit was 65 mph on State Route 17 in the Town of Owego.  An investigation determined that he was driving while intoxicated.  Worth refused to submit to a test of his blood alcohol content.  Worth was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Owego court on January 19, 2016.

(Lansing, NY – January 15, 2016) It’s an old saying among cops that the only things moving on the road in the wee hours of the morning are newspaper delivery guys and drunks. The New York State Police report that this guy was both.

On January 14, 2016, at about 4:53 a.m., New York State Police at Ithaca arrested Shanon C. Ivory, 34, of Ithaca, NY, for the misdemeanor of aggravated driving while intoxicated with a B.A.C. result of .26%.  This arrest occurred after troopers received a Tompkins County 911 report of a suspicious person in the area of Coventry Walk in the Town of Lansing.  Responding troopers found that Ivory was delivering newspapers in the area when his vehicle broke down and he was trying to request help from residents.  An investigation determined that he was driving while intoxicated.  Ivory was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Lansing Court on February 2, 2016.

(Windsor, NY – January 19, 2016)  On January 17, 2016, at about 6:35 p.m., New York State Police at Binghamton arrested Thomas Hopkins, 63, of Harpursville, NY for the misdemeanor of aggravated driving while intoxicated with a B.A.C. result of .24%.  This arrest occurred after a traffic stop when Hopkins was observed not using a turn signal as he drove on State Route 79 in the Town of Windsor.  An investigation determined that he was driving while intoxicated.  Hopkins was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Windsor Court on January 26, 2016.

(Chenango, NY – January 19, 2016) On January 16, 2017, at about 11:20 p.m., New York State Police at Whitney Point arrested Judson K. Dubois, 26, for felony driving while intoxicated.  This arrested occurred after a traffic stop for speeding at 60 mph, when the posted speed limit is 40 mph, while driving on State Route 11 in the Town of Chenango.  An investigation determined that Dubois was driving while intoxicated.  He refused to submit to a test to determined his blood alcohol content.  This arrest became a felony because Dubois as a prior conviction for DWI within the last ten years.  Dubois was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Chenango Court on February 2, 2016.

Clarkstown, NY – On January 16, 2016, at approximately 2:40 a.m., State Police stopped to render aid to a possible disabled vehicle on I-87 at Exit 12. The driver of the vehicle, Julieanna Wheeler, 46, of Bronxville, NY, was found to be intoxicated. Wheeler was transported and processed at SP Tarrytown, where her blood-alcohol content was determined to be 0.23%.  She was subsequently charged with:

  • Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, Unclassified Misdemeanor
Wheeler was turned over to a sober third party and released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Clarkstown Court on January 27, 2016 at 9:30 a.m.

Boozing Bozo ran into rear of police car

Brewster, New York – On January 15, 2016, New York State Police from the Brewster barracks arrested Elder R. Martinez Giron, 23 years old, of Brewster, New York, for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor.

Troopers from the Brewster barracks stop a vehicle on Main Street in the Village of Brewster. The operator of the vehicle was secured in the patrol vehicle and under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. A second vehicle, operated by Giron, was traveling eastbound on Main Street. Giron failed to maintain his designated lane and collides into the rear of the stopped patrol vehicle.

Giron was found to be intoxicated at the time of the crash.  No one was injured as a result of the collision.

Giron provided police with a positive breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .22%, more than two times the legal limit of intoxication.  He was issued traffic tickets ordering him to appear before the Village of Brewster Justice Court on February 8, 2016.

Guilderland, NY – On January 15, 2016, at approximately 10:38 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-90 for multiple traffic violations.  The driver of the vehicle, Yolonda L.

Newsome, 43 of Schenectady, NY, was found to be intoxicated.  She was transported and processed at SP Albany, where her blood-alcohol content was determined to be 0.23%. Newsome has two prior DWI convictions within the last 10 years and as a result was subsequently charged with:

  • Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated; a Class D Felony
  • Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 1st Degree; a Class E Felony
  • Multiple Vehicle and Traffic Violations
She was arraigned before the Town of Guilderland Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or bond.

 Mouthy Mustang Mary blasted down road DWI at 91 mph, say cops

Woodbury, NY – On January 19, 2016, at approximately 9:11 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87 for traveling 91 mph in a posted 65 mph zone and multiple other traffic violations. The driver of the vehicle, Mary J. Riley-Frazier, 51 of Goshen, NY, was found to be intoxicated.

She became belligerent and physically resisted arrest before being taken into custody.  She was transported and processed at SP Newburgh, where her blood-alcohol content was determined to be 0.20%.  Riley-Frazier was subsequently charged with:

  • Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated; a Class D Felony
  • Resisting Arrest; a Class A Misdemeanor
  • Multiple Vehicle and Traffic Violations

She was turned over to a sober third party and released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Woodbury Court on February 2, 2016, at 5:00 p.m.

BRANT, N.Y. (01/19/2016) — An Irving man is facing serious charges after New York State Police witnessed dangerous driving in the Town of Brant.

Officers say they spotted Frederick General, 36, driving 74 miles per hour in the 45 miles per hour zone, while using a turning lane to pass four other drivers. Police immediately pulled General over and questioned his sobriety.

General, who has prior DWI convictions, was charged with felony DWI, felony aggravated unlicensed operation, speeding and using a vehicle without an interlock device.

State Police Amity – Traffic Stop Leads to DWI Arrest

On Wednesday, January 6th, New York State Police Fillmore arrested JOHN P. SUFFOLETTA JR. ,  53, of  West Almond, NY for DWI subsequent to a traffic stop on State Route 243, Town of Caneadea.  SUFFOLETTA was stopped for vehicle and traffic violations and upon being interviewed an odor of alcoholic beverage was detected.  SUFFOLETTA was transported  to SP Amity for processing where he refused a breath test.  SUFFOLETTA was arraigned in Rushford Court and subsequently remanded to the Allegany County Jail in lieu of $2500 cash bail or $5000 bond.  SUFFOLETTA is due in T/Caneadea Court on 01/13/16 at 6 pm.

 

State Troopers arrest Boston man for DWI
On January 9, 2016, State Troopers arrested Norman Horschel, 52 years of age, of Boston for DWI.
Troopers responded to a call of a vehicle off the road on Shero Road in Boston, N.Y.  While interviewing Horschel, the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was evident, as well as, bloodshot and glassy eyes.  Field sobriety testing was implemented and failed.  He was placed under arrest and taken to the SP Boston station for processing, where he recorded at BAC of .15%, almost twice the legal limit.  Horschel is to appear in the Town of Boston Court at a later date.

Clark, age 44 of Ashville, NY after a traffic stop for failure to use turning signal.on E. 2nd Street in Jamestown.  Field sobriety tests were performed and Clark was placed under arrest for DWI.  She was transported to SP Jamestown for processing where a BAC of .14 was obtained.  Clark was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and is to appear in the City of Jamestown Court at a later date.

Charles M.Kennedy   Brandon E.NewbyOn January 9th at about 4:30PM New York State Police arrested Charles M. Kennedy, age 32 of Corry, PA and Brandon E. Newby, age 28 of Mayville, NY after a traffic stop for failure to keep right on Mount Pleasant Rd in Sherman, NY.   A computer check of the driver Kennedy showed that he had a suspended license.  Assisted by K-9 Kubi, Troopers found heroin and fentanyl patches and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.  Kennedy and passenger Newby were placed under arrest and transported to SP Jamestown for processing.  Newby was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th and is to appear in the Town of Sherman court at a later date.  After examination by a drug recognition expert Kennedy was charged with Driving While Ability Impaired, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th.  He was arraigned in the Town of Sherman Court and released under the supervision of probation, to appear in Sherman Court at a later date.

On January 10th about 6 AM New York State Police arrested Edwin Sanchez Jr., age 36 of Gerry, NY after they responded to a report of a domestic incident at Sanchez’ residence.  Sanchez had just driven home from a party and after field sobriety tests was placed under arrest for DWI.

He was processed at SP Jamestown where a BAC of  .11 was obtained.  Sanchez was issued tickets for Driving While Intoxicated and is to appear in the Town of Gerry Court at a later date.  He was released to a third party.

Troopers Make DWI Refusal Arrest of Lynn M. Quarantello

(Niagara Falls, NY – January 9, 2016) Troopers stopped Lynn M. Quarantello, 59, of Grand Island, NY for several Vehicle and Traffic infractions on US Route 62 in the City of Niagara Falls.

Troopers detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from her.  Quarantello was administrated and failed the SFST’s. She was arrested and transported to SP Niagara for processing.

Quarantello refused the breath test and was issued tickets for Driving While Intoxicated, Refusal to Take the Breath Test, Right Way Violation, Failure to Keep to the Right, Moved from Lane Unsafely and Unsafe Turn. She is scheduled to appear in the City of Niagara Falls on January 25, 2016.

Buffalo Man Arrested for DWI

(Lockport, NY – January 10, 2016) Troopers arrested Reginald L. Williams II, 31, of Buffalo, NY for Driving While Intoxicated, Moved from Lane Unsafely and No Plate Lamp after he was stopped on South Transit Road.

Police report that their investigation revealed Williams was intoxicated after Troopers detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from him. He failed the SFST’s administered to him. Williams was transported to SP Lockport where he refused the breath test.

Williams was arraigned in the Town of Lockport Court and remanded to Niagara County Jail in lieu of $500.00 bail. He is scheduled to re-appear on January 14, 2016.

STEPHANIE HOGAN of Machias NY was arrested for Aggravated DWI subsequent to a motor vehicle accident investigation.  ROBERT HOGAN suspected STEPHANIE of damaging his vehicle on her way home.  During the interview of STEPHANIE, the odor of alcoholic beverage was detected.  STEPHANIE failed SFST’s, was arrested and transported to SP Machias.  A Breath test revealed a BAC of 0.21%.  She was issued tickets returnable to Town of Machias Court 01/20/16 at 7:00pm.

Richard H. Rolfe Charged With Burglary and Dwai Drugs

On January 12th at approximately 11AM New York State Police arrested Richard H. Rolfe, age 23 of  Jamestown, NY after they responded to a report of a suspicious situation in Bemus Point where a witness saw a man use a hammer to break a neighbor’s porch window then drive off in a small black car. The driver of the car, later identified as Rolfe, passed one of the responding Troopers who turned around and located the car on

On January 12th at approximately 11AM New York State Police arrested Richard H. Rolfe, age 23 of  Jamestown, NY after they responded to a report of a suspicious situation in Bemus Point where a witness saw a man use a hammer to break a neighbor’s porch window then drive off in a small black car. The driver of the car, later identified as Rolfe, passed one of the responding Troopers who turned around and located the car on
S. Lakeside Ave. in Bemus Point.  Rolfe was then observed running from the Casino Restaurant toward the Hotel Lenhart. K9 units from Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department,  Lakewood-Busti Police Department, and Jamestown Police Department were training nearby and were called to the scene to assist along with other Deputies from the Sheriff’s Department.  Tracks in the snow showed entry was gained to the Hotel Lenhart through a window and a perimeter was set up.  At this point, Rolfe broke a window and attempted to exit the Hotel but was taken into custody without further incident.  Rolfe was transported to SP Jamestown and charged with two counts of Burglary 3rd degree, Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs and Criminal Mischief 4th degree.  He was arraigned in the Town of Ellery Court and committed to Chautauqua County Jail, no bail.

Troopers arrest Ryan A. Worthington for DWI

On 01/09/16 SP Olean Troopers responded to a report of a vehicle off the roadway on the Barnum Road in the Town of Olean.  Upon arrival Troopers located Ryan A. Worthington age 32 of Eldred with the vehicle.  Further investigation revealed that Worthington was the operator of the vehicle.  Worthington was arrested and transported to SP Olean for processing.  Worthington had a BAC of .13%.  He was charged with DWI, issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Olean Court on 01/14/16 at 4PM and was turned over to a third party.

Meth Pills, Pipe, and Pot sideline Luke McComb

LUKE N. MCCOMB age 19 of Batavia NY, was stopped for a speeding violation Friday night by NYSP Machias Trooper.  The strong odor of marijuana was emanating from MCCOMB’s vehicle.  A small amount of marijuana was located along with a smoking pipe.  MCCOMB was also found to be in possession of a pink pill, which was discovered to be a Controlled Substance (Methylphenidate Hydrochloride).  MCCOMB was issued an Appearance Ticket for the Town of Yorkshire and is due in court on January 21, 2016 at 6:00pm.

Ohio Man Charged With Drug Possession

On January 14th New York State Police arrested Gordon D. Cummings, age 26 of Warrensville, Ohio after a traffic stop for a loud exhaust on I-86 at approximately 1PM in the Town of Sherman.  A computer check showed Cummings did not have a valid driver’s license.
Cummings was found to be in possession of Tramadol pills, a controlled substance, for which he did not have a prescription.  Cummings was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Controlled Substance not in Original Container, Unlicensed Operation and Inadequate Exhaust.  He was arraigned in the Town of Sherman Court and committed to Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $1,500 bail.

Jamestown man arrested for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs

On January 17, 2016, Fredonia based State Police stopped a vehicle on State Route 60, in the Town of Pomfet, for crossing the fog line twice.

The driver, Tomas Confer, age 25, of Jamestown, NY, failed field sobriety tests. After further testing and evaluation he was subsequently arrested for DWAI-drugs.

Confer was issued traffic tickets for Operating a Motor Vehicle Impaired by Drugs 1st Offense and Moved from Lane Unsafely. He was then released to an associate.

Confer is to appear in the Town of Pomfret Court on February 9, 2016.

SP Niagara – Intoxicated Man Arrested for Hit and Run

(Town of Niagara – January 15, 2016) Troopers arrested James L. Russ, 66, of Niagara Falls, NY for numerous violations including Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, Speeding, Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident, and Improper Right Turn.

Troopers responded to a hit and run that occurred on Miller Road. The caller followed Russ to his residence. After testing and evaluation, he was subsequently arrested.

Russ was westbound on Lockport Road making a wide right turn, when he struck the other vehicle on the rear driver’s side. He was issued Uniform Traffic Tickets returnable to the Town of Niagara Court on January 25, 2016.

 

State Troopers make multiple arrests in the City of Buffalo
On January 18, 2016, State Police working Operation G.I.V.E. arrested Carlos Algarin, 30 years of age, of Buffalo.  Subsequent to a traffic stop on Niagara Street, Algarin, a passenger in the vehicle was found to have an active bench warrant for criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree out of Buffalo.  Algarin was arrested and taken to Buffalo Lock Up pending arraignment.
Juan Pena, 23 years of age, from Buffalo was stopped for a traffic offense on Niagara Street.  Investigation revealed Pena was driving on a revoked license.  He was also found to be in possession of 700 milligrams of cocaine.  He was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 5th and taken to the Buffalo Lock Up pending arraignment.
Angel Adorno, 21 years of age, of Buffalo was stopped for speeding on Niagara Street.  While interviewing Adorno, Troopers saw a plastic bag on the floor of the vehicle containing 700 milligrams of crack cocaine.  Both Adorno and his passenger, Luis Andino, 36 years of age, from Buffalo were arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance 5th and committed to the Buffalo Lock Up, pending arraignment.

Rocket Scientist Arrested for DWI After Cops Find Him With Only Three Tires on His Vehicle

On January 14, 2016, troopers from the Northway Station arrested James M. Harrison, 22, for Driving While Intoxicated.
At approximately 11:30 p.m., troopers were directing traffic in the area of SR-9 and Old Post Rd. in the Town of Malta.  A vehicle approached the intersection and was observed to have only three tires on the car.  A traffic stop was conducted and troopers detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage from Harrison’s breath.  Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered and Harrison was placed under arrest for DWI.  He was transported back to the station where he provided a breath sample resulting in a .13% blood alcohol concentration.  Harrison was processed and released to a sober third party, to appear in court at a later date.

Driver arrested for DWI and possessing marihuana

State Police in Brunswick arrested 43-year-old Douglas D. Sanders of New York City for Driving While Intoxicated and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana early Sunday morning. Sanders was operating a vehicle on State Route 7 in the Town of Brunswick when he was stopped for a traffic offense. While interviewing Sanders, the Trooper detected alcohol and he subsequently failed sobriety tests. He was also in possession of a small amount of marihuana. Sanders was taken into custody and transported to the Brunswick barracks for processing where his blood alcohol content was found to be .11% . He was issued tickets and released to a third party. Sanders is scheduled to appear in the Town of Brunswick Court at a later date.

Troopers in Latham Arrest a Troy man for DWI

January 18, 2016-SP Latham

On January 17, 2016 the New York State Police in Latham arrested Elmer J. Hernandez, 30, of Troy, NY for Driving While Intoxicated, a misdemeanor. Hernandez was traveling northbound on I-787 when he failed to maintain his lane causing his vehicle to travel off the roadway and strike a marked State Police unit on I-787 in the Village of Menands. Hernandez refused to submit to a chemical test to determine the Alcohol Content of his blood. Hernandez was processed without incident and is scheduled to appear in the Village of Menands Court on January 26, 2016 at 2:00 PM.

On January 18, 2016, Troopers arrested Gary Gataroska of Guilderland for driving while intoxicated.  Gataroska was spotted traveling 64 mph on SR-146 at about 9:20 PM.  Gataroska failed roadside sobriety tests and was transported to SP New Scotland for processing.  Gataroska was released on an appearance ticket for the Guilderland Town Court on January 28, 2016 at 5:30 PM.

 

Troopers in Latham Arrest a Watervliet Man for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd

On 01/18/16, the New York State Police in Latham arrested Darnell C. Nesbit, 38, of Watervliet, NY for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree, a felony.  Nesbit was arrested subsequent to a V&T stop on Broadway in the City of Watervliet.  Nesbit was found to possess approx. 100 Percocet pills and less than 25 grams of marijuana.  Nesbit was processed for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th, Unlawful Possession of Marihuana and Controlled Substance not in Original Container.  Nesbit was arraigned in the City of Watervliet Court and remanded to Albany County Jail on no bail.
