The Corpus Christi Police Traffic Safety Section released statistics related to the offenses associated with driving while intoxicated for the year to date.  There have been  764 arrests through July 2, 2014 for Driving While Intoxicated or Driving Under the Influence. This is a 32% increase from the same time last year. There were 576 arrests by July 2, 2013 with a total of 1,203 total arrest for D.W.I. or D.U.I. made in 2013.  Below is a complete breakdown of all DWI and DUI cases by CCPD officers through July 2, 2014.

250 Suspects consented to give a sample of their breath
187 Suspects consented to give a sample of their blood
313 Suspects refused to give a sample of breath or blood and a search warrant was obtained
7 Suspects refused both blood and breath request, and no evidence was obtained
69 Felony DWI cases files as of July 2, 2014
38 for DWI with two or more prior convictions
13 for intoxicated assault
15 DWI with Child Passenger
3 intoxicated manslaughter
.17 Average Breath /Blood results from suspects
177 DWI arrest were involved in Traffic Crashes.
