(New Braunfels, TX) — The DWI No Refusal policy in place for the summer here in New Braunfels and Comal County continues to nab drivers that either haven’t heard the news, or are choosing to ignore the increased patrols and the heavy emphasis by local law enforcement to take drunk drivers off the streets.

One of those arrests – and the scariest of them – played out early Sunday morning both on and off the northbound lanes of I-35. Shortly after 5am Sunday, New Braunfels Police say a Dodge 1500 pickup truck was reported driving against traffic, going the wrong way on the northbound I-35 main lanes. The driver, identified as 30-year old Mark Zamora of New Braunfels, then apparently realized he was going the wrong way on the interstate, so he swerved off the highway, over the grass median, and across the 3 lanes of traffic of the access road in the area near the Rush Building and headed for McQueeney Road.   ….MORE
