06/21/2016 — On June 20, 2016, Colonel Steven G. O’Donnell, Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police and Commissioner of the Department of Public Safety, announces that as a result of the Division’s efforts to continue to make our roadways safer, members of the Rhode Island State Police have arrested ten (10) subjects for Driving Under the Influence (DUI) over the weekend. One of those arrested was traveling with a nine (9) year old child in his vehicle.

The following is a list of the ten (10) people who were arrested and their pending charges:

Paul M. Bernard, age 44, of 1208 Main Street Apt. #11, Coventry, RI
• Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drugs – 1st Offense, BAC .15 or Greater (Phase 1: .204 / Phase 2: .195)
(Paul Bernard had a nine (9) year old child in the vehicle at the time of the arrest.)

Jose Perez, age 27, of 484 Academy Avenue, Providence, RI
• Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drugs – 1st Offense BAC Unknown
• Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test

Daniel Sousa, age 24, of 332 Ward Street, Woonsocket, RI
Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drugs 2nd Offense – B.A.C. .15 or Greater (Phase I .244 / Phase II .247)
• Driving so as to Endanger Resulting in Physical Injury

Brett Zerba, age 30, of 5 Barn Drive, Cumberland, RI
• Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drugs – 1st Offense BAC Unknown (Pending Blood Results)
• Possession of a Controlled Substance – Schedule I (Heroin)
• Driving in Possession of a Controlled Substance

Melissa Cormier, 28, of 18 Larose Drive Marlborough, MA
• Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drugs 1st Offense B.A.C. .08 – .10. (Phase I .115 / Phase II .122)

Eugenio Depina, age 54, of 152 ½ Durfee Street New Bedford, MA
• Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drugs – 1st Offense BAC Unknown
• Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test

Brandon Burns, age 25, of 65 Perez Street, Attleboro, MA
• Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and / or Drugs – 1st Offense – B.A.C. .15 or Greater (Phase I: .188 / Phase II: .193)

Travis Moore, age 43, of 140 Rhode Island Avenue, Pawtucket, RI
• Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drugs 1st Offense – .15 or Greater (Phase 1 .273 / Phase II . 272)

Stanley Wilson, age 46, of 3 Cabin Court Westerly, RI
• Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drugs 1st Offense .08-.10 (Phase I .123 / Phase II .131)

The Rhode Island State Police will continue to aggressively enforce the motor vehicle laws with increased emphasis on speeding, driving while impaired, aggressive driving, texting violations, seat belt and child restraint violations. We believe that by continuing these enforcement efforts, it makes the highways safer for all travelers.
