Texas law would require interlock device on 1st. DWI

From KXAN-TVAUSTIN (KXAN) – Texas lawmakers will consider a new law that would allow first time DWI offenders to receive deferred adjudication and require them to get an ignition interlock device on their vehicles. House Bill 189 was authored by Representative Todd Smith of Euless. “It is tough on crime,” said Rep. Smith of the bill. “It gives incentives to first-time offenders to get treatment and it requires ignition interlocks on their vehicle.”  MORE
