California: Two officers in one week charged with DUI; the good news was that none of them held up a bank!

FREMONT — A police officer was arrested last week on suspicion of driving under the influence on Interstate 680 — one of two Fremont officers to be taken into custody for drunken driving in a week.
At 11:47 p.m. Feb. 3, a California Highway Patrol officer spotted a Honda Ridgeline pickup truck traveling at a speed of 78 miles per hour while southbound on Interstate 680 near Washington Boulevard, a CHP spokesman said. The CHP officer made a traffic stop and noticed an odor of alcohol in the vehicle, Officer Steve Creel said. When the Honda’s driver, Paul Singleton, 47, failed a field-sobriety test, he was taken into custody, Creel said.
