Highway 116 south of Sebastopol opened early Wednesday after being closed for about 10 hours following a crash into a power pole by a suspected drunken driver.

The roadway, a major route connecting the west county with Highway 101 in Cotati, was opened just after 6:30 a.m., according to the CHP.

The closure occurred after a Mazda Miata smashed the pole at about 8:45 p.m. near Lone Pine Road, said the CHP.
