La Quinta Police

On Thursday, April 17th, at 11:52 AM, officers from the La Quinta Police Department responded to investigate a non-injury traffic collision at the intersection of Adams Street and Blackhawk Way.

The driver of a blue Nissan Altima was traveling northbound on Adams Street and collided into the rear of a white Nissan Altima, also traveling northbound on Adams Street. No one was injured in the traffic collision. However, the driver of the blue Nissan Altima was noticed by officers displaying objective symptoms of drug impairment.  An officer administered a series of field sobriety tests and concluded the driver, Michelle Boscarino, a 50-year-old resident of La Quinta, was under the influence of prescription medication and was unsafe to be driving a car.  Michelle Boscarino was arrested and booked into the Riverside County Jail in the city of Indio for driving while impaired by drugs.

The La Quinta Police and the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department would like to caution all motorists to never drink and drive or operate motor vehicles while impaired. All drivers are encouraged to immediately call 9-1-1 if they see a suspected drunk driver on the roadway.
