California: Stacey Jo Dolan charged with DUI after crashing into stopped traffic at red light; Lake Elsinore DUI checkpoint sends drivers to jail

On Sunday, May 31, 2015, about 6:04 PM, officers from the Palm Desert Police Department responded to a report of a traffic collision, between two vehicles, on Gerald Ford Dr. west of Portola Ave. in Palm Desert. The reporting party in

formed Sheriff’s Dispatch the driver of one of the vehicles was possibly intoxicated.

The investigation determined the driver, Stacey Jo Dolan, 51 of Palm Desert, collided with another vehicle stopped at the red light. The collision caused both vehicles to block one lane of traffic on Gerald Ford Dr. Dolan was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol and was subsequently arrested. Dolan was transported to a local hospital as a precaution. Dolan was medically cleared and later booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio.

The Lake Elsinore Police Department conducted a DUI/Drivers License Checkpoint on May 29, 2015, as part of the City of Lake Elsinore’s commitment to public safety. This checkpoint was one of many that have been or will be conducted throughout the year in the city. The checkpoint was located at Railroad Canyon Road and Church Road in the city of Lake Elsinore. The goal of the DUI/CDL Checkpoint was to raise public awareness of the dangers of driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, and remove impaired and suspended drivers from the roadway.

Arrested for Driving under the influence alcohol/drugs:

  • Genaro Morales, 50 years old, of Wildomar, CA.
  • Limmie Davis, 30 years old of Lake Elsinore, CA

Arrested for under the influence drugs:

  • Bradley Pacheco, 22 years old of Murrieta, CA

Arrested for possession of cocaine:

  • Richard Laryea, 20 years old of Menifee, CA

Arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia:

  • Brent Tyree, 51 years old of Canyon Lake, CA
  • 1755 Vehicles passed through the checkpoint.
  • 63 Vehicles were diverted to secondary screening.
  • 10 Persons were given field sobriety tests.
  • 2 DUI suspects were arrested.
  • 14 Vehicles stored or impounded for 30 days.
  • 30 Unlicensed and suspended drivers sent to Court.

Alcohol and drug impaired driving causes serious injuries and deaths that have marred recent holiday celebrations. The Lake Elsinore Police Department is committed to working aggressively to reduce the incidence of needless tragedy that accompanies any alcohol related collision.

On Thursday, May 28, 2015, at about 6:36 p.m., officers from the Palm Desert Police Department responded to Portola Avenue and Julie Drive, in reference to a single vehicle traffic collision. The investigation revealed that a blue Nissan Xterra was traveling southbound on Portola Avenue approaching the intersection of Julie Drive.  The driver of the Nissan attempted to make a right turn onto Julie Drive, but failed to negotiate the turn, and collided into a block wall on the southwest corner of the intersection.

The driver of the Nissan, Steven Grout, age 26 from Palm Desert , was found to be driving his vehicle while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.  Grout sustained moderate injuries to his forehead as a result of the traffic collision. Grout was transported to a local hospital in Palm Springs where he was treated for his injuries.  Grout was cited and released at the hospital due to his injuries.  Charges will be filed against Steven Grout for driving while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.
