Sentencing of a 20-year-old motorist convicted of killing a 15-year-old girl while he was driving drunk has been rescheduled from Thursday to mid-May.
On Dec. 11, jurors deliberated two hours before they convicted Hunter Michael Hillmer, of Topeka, of unintentional second-degree murder in the death of passenger Madison “Maddie” Naill, 15; aggravated battery (great bodily harm) in the injury of passenger Blake Hanvy, 20; driving while under the influence of alcohol; possession or consumption of alcohol by a minor; and reckless driving.
