WARREN COUNTY • A Wright City man involved in a crash earlier this year that killed a passenger in his car apparently was a repeat drunken driver.

Marcus Anthony Jones, 51, has been charged with second-degree murder, driving while intoxicated as an aggravated offender and driving with a revoked license.

The crash happened on Jan. 12 at 10:05 p.m. on the north outer road of Interstate 70 near Winding Woods Circle, west of Wright City.

Jones was driving a 2001 Ford Focus, and Joyce Mullen, 64 of Warrenton, was a passenger in his vehicle. Police said Marcus lost control of the car, left the roadway and collided with a tree.

Mullen, who had not been wearing a seat belt, was ejected through the rear passenger window and pronounced dead at the scene.
