UPDATE: 2014-04-07  ONE YEAR to the day that she killed Ricky Moore, Kadie Matthews was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

The Denham Springs Police Department has arrested a  24-year-old female and charged her with DWI, Vehicular Homicide and Careless Operation in connection with a fatal accident that occurred early Sunday Morning.

According to witnesses, Kadie Matthews, 24, 24392 Millican Dr., Denham Springs, was driving her vehicle at a high rate of speed on Interstate 12 eastbound Sunday morning around 4:00AM. Just before the  Juban Rd. exit ramp Matthews’ vehicle slammed into the rear of another vehicle being driven by Ricky Moore, 35, of Walker.
