Hawk Patrick Edwards, who is accused of driving drunk in a crash that killed a Duluth grandmother and critically injured the grandson she was driving to school, is extremely remorseful and “will do the right thing,” his public defender said Tuesday.
“I talked to this young man and I talked to his mother,” Northeastern Minnesota Chief Public Defender Fred Friedman, who is representing Edwards, told the News Tribune. “Their hearts go out to the Bergren family. They’re hurting for them. Hawk seems like a nice young man, who looks forward to resolving this as soon as possible.”
Friedman stopped short of saying that his client will plead guilty to the charges against him, but said “he’s going to do the right thing and do everything he can to resolve the case quickly. I think we all know what that means.” ….MORE
