BRICK, N.J. (AP) – A southern New Jersey man who prosecutors say was driving drunk when he caused a fatal crash has been charged with death by auto.
Executive Assistant Ocean County Prosecutor Michel Paulhus tells the Asbury Park Press (http://on.app.com/VXWQNo) that 28-year-old Robert Cook Jr. of Point Pleasant was driving in Brick when his car veered into oncoming traffic and collided with another vehicle around 3 p.m. Saturday.
Jane Eager, an 80-year-old Brick resident who was in the other car, was pronounced dead at the scene. Cook suffered minor injuries.
