New York: Dennis Drue charged with multiple counts in indictment for killing two


(Jan. 7, 2013) — The New York State Police and the Saratoga County District Attorney announce an arrest in the December 1, 2012 double fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred on Interstate 87 in the Town of Clifton Park.
The New York State Police in Clifton Park arrested Dennis S. Drue, age 22, of Clifton Park on January 4, 2013 at his home after a Saratoga County Grand Jury handed up a multiple count indictment to the Saratoga County Court and Judge Jerry Scarano issued an arrest warrant. Drue was then remanded to the Saratoga County Jail pending his arraignment which occurred earlier today.
The most serious felony charges in the indictment include Aggravated vehicular homicide, Vehicular manslaughter in the first degree, Manslaughter in the second degree and Vehicular manslaughter in the second degree.
Drue’s bail was set at $50,000 cash/$100,000 bond and he was subsequently released after posting $50,000 cash.
Drue was the operator of a car on Interstate 87 in the Town Clifton Park that struck the rear of a sport utility vehicle driven by Chris Stewart back on December 1, 2012. Stewart and occupant Deanna Rivers were killed while additional occupants Bailey Wind and Matthew Hardy were seriously injured in the crash.
