An 18-year-old Honeoye Falls man is dead after a one-car crash in Mendon overnight and the now the driver is charged with DWI and vehicular manslaughter. It happened around 1 a.m. on Clover Street.
Deputies say 18-year-old Garrett Ockun of Honeoye Falls was driving a Pontiac Grand Prix south on Clover Street when the car left the road and hit several trees. Ockun and his four passengers — John Fisher of Lima, James Smith of Honeoye Falls, James Spencer Jr. of Honeoye Falls and Dane Harrington of Honeoye Falls – all 18 years old — were taken to Strong Hospital with varying degrees of injuries.
Deputies say James Spencer Jr. succumbed to his injuries. ….MORE
