A suspected drunk driver injured two North Texas Department of Public Safety State Troopers after their official vehicle was rear-ended Sunday morning, authorities tell NBCDFW.
Sergeant David Cramer and Trooper Germaine Gaspard had pulled Abimael Valdez after they suspected him of driving while intoxicated on Interstate 635 just north of Oates Drive in Mesquite around 2 a.m. Sunday, according to investigators on the scene of the crash.
“Sgt. Cramer was standing partially outside of the patrol car when a silver Mazda 626 veered off of the roadway onto the shoulder and struck the DPS vehicle and Sgt. Cramer,” Mesquite Police Department Lt. Bill Hedgpeth said. MORE
