Texas: Lance Palermo sent to slammer for 20 years for killing Shelby Forester in DUI crash

BEAUMONT – The mother of the 16-year-old Lumberton High School junior who died in the crash spoke to the man responsible during today’s sentencing hearing and told him “part of me was killed with Shelby.”
A judge sentenced Lance Palermo to 20 years in prison for intoxication manslaughter, and 20 years for aggravated assault. He will serve the sentences at the same time.
Shelby Forester lost her life in the collision at 2:30 in the morning on January 3rd in Beaumont. She was a passenger and died at the scene. Several of her friends were hurt when 24-year-old Palermo ran into the back of their car on Major Drive, between Delaware and Folsom.
Palermo’s blood alcohol level was point .35, more than four times the legal limit.
