April 4, 2013) – A 32-year-old Leesburg man is facing a host of charges including reckless driving, hit and run and DWI after he was tracked down by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit after a pursuit and crash in the Leesburg area around 2 a.m. this morning.
A vehicle was reported taken from a residence without permission of the owner. As deputies were responding to the call, it was learned members of the Leesburg Police Department were involved in a pursuit with the vehicle on the Route 7 Bypass.
The vehicle attempted to elude the pursuing officer and crashed in the area of King Street and Fairfax Street. The driver fled from the vehicle. The driver was located by a Sheriff”s Office K9 unit in the area of Catoctin Circle.
