“It’s irresponsible for any adult, especially someone as high-profile as President Obama, to make light of underage drinking when teen alcohol use kills 4,700 young people every year. We hope that respected and influential adults delivering high school commencement speeches will take that role seriously. Not all teens drink underage. It’s not a rite of passage. Teen drinking is illegal and dangerous. We must do everything in our power to keep our teens healthy and safe. 06/14/2014 — This is just what you want your high school graduate to hear. President Obama gave the commencement address at Worcester Technical High School, and he went full “cool dad” on the audience.

Before he began detailing his list of complaints about the Republican Party (yes, high school students love hearing partisan rhetoric as they graduate, right?), President Obama joked about not remembering his high school graduation, or the after party. From The Blaze:

I have to say, I do not remember my high school graduation speaker. I have no idea who it was. I’m sure I was thinking about the party after graduation. I don’t remember the party either. I’m just telling the truth.

The graduates ate it up – because if the President got drunk on graduation night, this means they can too, right? That’s a terrific example to set for crowd of 18-year-olds, Mr. President.   ….MORE
