12/07/2015 — Washington State Patrol reports that DUI charges are pending in a one-vehicle wreck five miles south of Springdale in Stevens County on Dec. 5, 2015, at 9:27 pm.

Trooper M Hyer reports that Horace P. Axtell II, 22, of Wellpinit was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center and his Ford F150 was a total loss when he failed to make it safely around a curve.  The truck ended up down an embankment.

A crash on Slater Road at the off ramp in Whatcom County on Dec. 5, 2015, at 11:03 pm was reported by Washington State Patrol Trooper J. Kreig to be alcohol involved. Brice A. Knight, 29, of Bellingham, Washington, was operating a Chevy pickup and was flown to a trauma unit after leaving I5 and rolling over. DUI investigation is underway and charges are pending, report police.
