Ventura Police reported a suspected DUI driver crashed in to a parked truck in Ventura late Saturday night, killing the passenger.
Officers responded at 11:38 p.m. to a report of a collision at Thompson Boulevard and Catalina Street. The car had hit the back of a box truck parked on Thompson Boulevard. The driver was identified as Nicholas Gaeta, 23, of Santa Paula.
The passenger, Santa Paula resident Sergio Juarez, Jr., was in the car and suffered major head injuries, police reported. He was not wearing a seat belt, police said. Juarez, 24, later died at Ventura County Medical Center…..MORE
