A 22-year-old man was sentenced on May 30, 2017, to eight years in state prison for driving under the influence of alcohol and crashing his car into another vehicle, killing a couple, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.
On April 4, Andrew Vincente Simbana-Nunez pleaded guilty to two felony counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated in case VA143310.
The defendant also admitted a special allegation that he committed great bodily injury and death to more than one victim during the commission of the crime.

Brian Urquia, 30, and Rosanna Williams, 28, a newly engaged couple, immediately died in the crash, the prosecutor said. The defendant was arrested at the scene.
