A night of drinking among friends ended in a car accident inside a gated community Thursday, killing one passenger, seriously injuring another and leading to the arrest of the driver on a DUI manslaughter charge, Lee deputies reported.
Ryan Gilhooly, 29, of Dayton, Ohio, died after the car in which he was riding struck a tree in West Bay Club community after 2 a.m.
Another backseat passenger, Jordon Roe, 29, was rushed to Lee Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
The driver, Danielle N. Bowman, 25, of 20257 Royal Villagio Court, Estero, was arrested Thursday morning on charges of DUI manslaughter, DUI with serious injury and DUI. A breath test suggested her blood alcohol content was .146, nearly twice the legal limit. A traffic homicide report also named speed as a factor in the crash. ….MORE
