(LOUISVILLE, KY.) 01/03/2017–#KSPpost4 Troopers arrested a Louisville man after a pursuit on the Greenbelt Highway in Jefferson County. On Sunday, January 1, 2017 at approximately 9:22 P.M. EDST, Trooper Ken Borders observed a Dodge pickup truck speeding 72 mph in a 55 mph zone and activated his emergency equipment to stop the vehicle.
At this time, police say that the suspect, James F. McClelland, 29, of Louisville, refused to stop and accelerated before turning onto multiple side streets and re-entering the Greenbelt and accelerating again.

The suspect then turned onto Lewis Way where he drove into a muddy field and became stuck.

During the pursuit, the suspect came to a stop at Lower River Rd. and Moorman Rd. Trooper Borders heard a shot come from the suspect vehicle and then witnessed the suspect’s vehicle quickly accelerate again away from the scene. The suspect then turned onto Lewis Way where he drove into a muddy field and became stuck. After a brief foot pursuit, Tpr. Borders was able to catch up to the suspect and deploy his Taser striking the suspect. After a brief scuffle, Mr. McClelland was placed under arrest without further incident.

James F. McClelland was charged with the following: Speeding, Wanton Endangerment 1st (Police Officer), Wanton Endangerment 1st, Tampering With Physical Evidence, Fleeing or Evading Police 1st (Motor Vehicle), Fleeing Or Evading Police 1st (On Foot), Operating A Motor Vehicle Under The Influence (Aggravating Circumstance), Assault 3rd, Criminal Mischief 3rd, Violation of An EPO/DVO, Reckless Driving, No Registration Plates, No Registration Receipt, Failure Of Owner To Maintain Required Insurance, Failure To Or Improper Signal, Improper Passing, and Possession of A Handgun by a Convicted Felon. He was subsequently lodged at Louisville Metro Corrections. The incident is still under investigation by KSP Post 4.

Henderson County, KY. (December 28th, 2016)- Kentucky State Police initiated a traffic stop on Charles S. Evans, 47,of Henderson County, KY for Careless Driving on US 60 E in Henderson, KY. Upon further investigation, Evans was placed under arrest for Operating a Motor Vehicle under the influence, Possession of Controlled Substance 1st degree, 1st offense (Methamphetamine), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Open Alcohol Beverage Container in Motor Vehicle Prohibited. Charles S. Evans was transported and lodged at Henderson County Detention Center.
